Summary of the September OFSTED report

Our most recent Ofsted report

At All Saints’ Primary School, every child matters within a supportive Christian ethos. We strive hard to make a difference and to promote enjoyable learning for all.

Our new Early Years unit is housed in a purposely designed building and provides an excellent education where the children have the opportunity to explore using a ‘hands on’ approach and they experience wide varieties of learning both inside and outside.

Our history

Darfield Church of England School was the original school for the village. The present building dates from 1899 with a range of extensions which have been added over the years to meet the children’s needs.

Before Easter 2011 we began several initiatives, guided by Craig Lee the Head of St Mary’s, to improve the academic performance of our school. Visit us to see the big positive impact they are having and to find out more about what we are doing.

OFSTED Update

On 14th and 15th of September we had an inspection from OFSTED to monitor our progress.

We are delighted to report that the hard work our staff are putting in is paying off. OFSTED assesses us as making good overall progress towards our goals.  We are confident that by the end of the year we will have met our improvement targets.
Ofsted September 2011

“Throughout the school a greater number of pupils are now making expected rates of progress in English and Mathematics”

“There are already impressive indications that not only are pupils’ attitudes to reading improving but the majority are starting to make gains towards age related expectations.”

The September report is now available - it is called Section 8 report.
